Unmatched is a skirmish game that pits iconic characters against each other, each with their own fighting style, strengths and weaknesses. The basic game features four heroes, but a number of expansions allow for even greater combat diversity.
The first Unmatched box lets you play as King Arthur, Alice in Wonderland, Medusa or Sinbad the Sailor. Each character is accompanied by allied tokens, and above all a deck of cards of their own, offering a host of particularly effective combos.
Each game turn, players must perform two of the 3 actions available. Whether moving figurines around the board, attacking or plotting, these actions are determined by the cards in your hand. These allow you to attack, defend or activate special abilities linked to your hero powers.
Clashes are as fast as they are fierce, with fluid, intuitive gameplay. Each player must find the best position on the battlefield to attack his opponent, whether in melee or from a distance. Attack and defense cards are played face-down, and the damage taken can be modified by the text of the cards played. The suspense is therefore total until the cards in play are revealed, a moment that is always full of tension.
